Washington DC, US 27 February 2012 – Mobiletech AS, a leading provider of software that enables mobile Internet solutions, today announced steps to expand its business in the United States.

CEO and co-founder Christian Erichsen, has moved from Mobiletech’s Norwegian headquarter to their new office in Washington DC. Peter Barclay, former director of mobile at the Washington Post, joins Mobiletech in Washington as Vice President Products.

“We’ve been privileged to work with some of the leading media brands here, including Washington Post, Time Warner Cable and Voice of America, to help them break new ground with their mobile strategies,” said Mr. Erichsen. “It’s crucial for us to be here to support our clients on the ground and to grow our business further. We’re making sure we remain at the centre of innovation to continue to break new ground with our clients.”

“Companies in publishing and media have been the early adaptors. But businesses across industries now realize they need a mobile strategy to engage consumers and broaden their reach both at home and abroad. Smartphone and tablet ownership is growing rapidly and people increasingly use their mobile, rather than a PC, to go online.  At the same time, only one in every five website is actually tailored for mobile devices. This is a huge opportunity for our products and services.”

In his role as Vice President Products, Peter Barclay will work closely with existing and new customers and continue to advance Mobiletech’s offerings to stay ahead of customer needs.

“Peter will play a key role in our US operations. He brings extensive experience in mobile and digital products. From his roles as director of mobile at Washington Post and mobile consultant, Peter understands all aspects of mobile.  He brings 10 years experience from FedEx, where he was responsible for digital products ranging from FedEx.com to integration tools that helped facilitate their shipping process. From strategy, through implementation to consumer issues, he understands what works and where the challenges are.”

“I’m very excited to join Mobiletech and grow its US presence, said Peter Barclay. “Having worked with Mobiletech products in the past, I know first-hand how business can use their tools to create superior user experiences for mobile consumers. By using HTML5 and responsive web tools, their products are perfectly positioned for the US market “

To support US companies in their mobile strategies, Mobiletech provides a robust Platform that creates high-quality mobile web solutions that let companies reach all mobile consumers regardless of their mobile device; without the need to tailor specific applications.
